Daily Kiwi/Aussie Slang

round = one drink for each person

Example: It's my turn to buy a round of drinks.

A common way to pay for drinks among friends or workmates. One person buys a "round" = one drink for each person in their group. Then each person takes turns to buy a "round" for each of the others in their group. This is not always financially equal, as the size of the group may grow of shrink as the night progresses.
